*  WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 4TH 2019 - LETTING GO...
November was a whirlwind with 4 operettas in 3 different cities.  I've finally had the time to start going through some footage and I put together a montage from the performance on Nov 7th at the McNay Museum for A Dream is a Dream is a Dream is a Dream...

This was a very special composition and one that was heavy hearted.  Having to let go is never easy.  "Here we are again.  Losing my best friend.  I can feel you still.  Lying in my arms.  Now you're gone."

This video starts with Steph Huskin portraying Gertrude Stein and later features David Hockney played by James Dykman, Pablo Picasso played by Jeremiah Drake, Igor Stravinsky also played by Drake and Coco Chanel played by Samantha Serrano.  Other characters were involved but unfortunately due to the nature of a movie opera, the camera couldn't be in multiple places at once.  I hope you enjoy!  And look out for footage from my other operettas!

*SATURDAY NOVEMBER 16 2019 - KMFA
You know why Austin is cool?  Because we have an amazing classical music station that loves to cover the vibrant local classical music community.  Yes there is NYC and L.A. and Chicagobut for a once sleepy town in the middle of big 'ole Texas?  I'm proud.  I couldn't imagine growing up in any other city.

*   MONDAY OCTOBER 14TH - A DREAM
I'm on my way home from Copenhagen after spending a week in a haunted castle with 12 other composers and a handful of brilliant musicians.  It's time to get down to business!  I have a sound piece premiering at Confluence Park in San Antonio this Thursday and a special event for my film exhibition [nothing] on Friday.  Then my 3 operas premiere all in November in Austin, College Station and San Antonio.  Check my 'tour' page for details.  Here will be the first of the three, on November 7th at McNay Museum titled, A Dream is a Dream is a Dream is a Dream...

* MONDAY MAY 20TH - ORLANDO WEEKLY REVIEW
"Best of all, Felix’s goosebump-raising score offers an eerie idea of what it might sound like if the composers of Les Miz wrote a musical version of The Exorcist." You can still see the "silent" musical Wed-Sun this week at Fringe!

* WEDNESDAY MAY 15TH - ORLANDO SENTINEL
On a very stressful Monday, with rain pouring down all day, we were unsure if we'd have the opportunity to go forth with our private press preview. Thankfully the sky opened up and we had just enough time to set up and run it! The Orlando Sentinel was there and said this: "Felix’s compositions have a pleasing otherworldly sound that gives way to something more discordant as things go awry. (Have you ever heard of séance running smoothly?)." Read the full review by clicking on this photo. If in Orlando from May 16-26 buy $10 tickets HERE

* SUNDAY MAY 12TH - "SILENT" SEANCE
Excited to be back in Orlando (4th time in less than a year) and this time collaborating with director, Scott Browning for an interactive musical on headphones at Fringe Festival!  It's my first horror related project outside of film scoring.  Despite the technical headaches involved with the headphones, transmitters, etc...I really love the end result in doing these interactive/immersive pieces. The audience really eats it up and it's fun to see their reaction. Pray for no rain during our shows!

* MARCH 14TH 2019 - 6 PIANOS HOUSTON!!!
I'm ecstatic to be presenting music for 6 pianos in Houston this May!  It's my first big production in Houston but I feel it's going to be a great way to connect with the community.  As you know, the idea behind the 6-Piano Project is community based and donating back to the community via placing pianos in lower income schools.  If you would like to donate to this not-for-profit event, click on the Donate button below.  Any amount from $1+ helps!  All money donated will go to the restoration and placement of these pianos in lower income homes and schools.

And if you don't use Paypal another option is Venmo: @NathanFelix or email me for your preferred solution - n.j.felix@gmail.com.  I can also email receipts for tax purposes.

AND what will this concert look like?  Here is a video from 6-Pianos Barcelona.  Here is one from 6-Pianos San Antonio.  Here is a PBS mini doc on the 6-Pianos Austin
(complimentary beverages thanks to Buffalo Bayou Brewery and Virtuoso wine & spirits)

I'm honored to be presenting the 4th annual Indie Orchestra Night with my coconspirator, Brent Baldwin and his choral group, Panoramic Voices. It's this Sunday March 3rd (4:30 pm) at Millennium Youth Complex. Click on the poster below for tickets. AND Austin 360 couldn't have said it better...

"Wonder what your favorite Austin band would sound like with a string section? For the fourth year in a row, composer Nathan Felix and choral ensemble Panoramic Voices are arranging the songs of popular local artists for orchestra and choir. This year’s event features psych-rock legend Roky Erickson, pop savant Mobley, powerhouse rockers Sweet Spirit and electropop outfit Night Glitter. A portion of proceeds from the event will go to the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians." — Deborah Sengupta Stith
